If I’m going to be doing all sorts of awkward movements at the gym, i.e. squats and burpees, I at least want to look good doing them.

Sooo…I wear makeup to the gym.  I’m that girl.  Don’t judge.

I don’t wear a full face of makeup, but I need something.  Through trial and a few tragic errors, I have figured out the sweatproof makeup that works for me.

EYES

Over- 40 lashes start to thin, so I can’t afford to lose any.  For this reason, I don’t use waterproof mascara.  Rubbing my lashes with makeup remover usually ends in lash loss.  But no worries because…

I have mascara favorites that wash right off but never run:

Blinc Mascara – (My Ultimate Favorite of All Time for the Gym, Travel, Everyday)  Nothing beats this mascara for no-fail, no-smudge, no-flake, all-day wear.  It is truly amazing.   It gives a natural look, but adds significant length to lashes.  To wash off, wet your lashes and slide the mascara off your lashes.  For more details, see my review here.

CoverGirl Clear Mascara– It may not have the impact of black mascara, but I never worry about raccoon eyes.  It adds just enough to my lashes so that they show up.  Curl your lashes first, then apply this clear mascara and the curl will hold.  You’ll be surprised how this adds a little oomph to a natural look.

CHEEKS & LIPS

Think stains!  Not sweat stains…cheek & lip stains.  These will add color that won’t streak or melt when the heat is on.  They temporarily stain your skin, so they won’t budge.  And it feels like I’m wearing nothing on my face & lips.  My favorite:
Benefit Cosmetics Benetint Cheek & Lip Stain.
TIP 1:  On your fingertips, mix a little stain with your BB cream or moisturizer, and then apply to apples of cheeks.  This makes it easier to work with.   Or apply stain to cheeks first first, then a little BB cream over the stain.
TIP 2:  Apply gloss or clear balm over stained lips to add moisture and give a natural look.

FACE
I don’t use foundation because it always loses the battle against full-on gym sweat.  It’s too heavy and it blocks up my pores.   I know there are sweat proof formulas, but I don’t want to feel like I’m wearing a mask.  Instead, I wear a little BB Cream just to even things out.
